In my role, I am the primary IT support for the entire company. My role includes all hardware and software upgrades and maintenance of the company’s technology infrastructure. This includes desktop machines, portable machines, networking hardware, mobile phones, in house wi-fi, and wired networking, internet connectivity, server hardware and software, printing technology, as well as FTP, and VPN configurations. I’m responsible for making recommendations to the CEO and President in terms of purchasing, upgrades, new technology and training. I’m responsible for the purchase and deployment of all hardware and software as well as training and troubleshooting of issues. I am also called upon to troubleshoot obscure issues relating to company workload in reference to clients as necessary. Given the distance between Washington, D.C. and Portland, the majority of this is done in absentia via VPN connection, Apple Remote Desktop, and deployed services as necessary in order to facilitate all necessary IT needs remotely.

Secondary to this, I have built and maintained multiple iterations of the company’s website and brand identity, providing design services, logo manipulation and marketing design as necessary.

Also of note, due to the pandemic, PubsPros like many other companies worldwide, was forced to shutter our offices for a time, in order to protect our employees. In a 90 day timeframe, the company was migrated from being wholly in-office to researching, projecting, budgeting, purchasing, testing, and deploying a completely new software ecosystem, allowing us to provide laptops to our employees. This accounted for MDM, security, backup, productivity, and communication suites, managed and administered by IT. This included but was not limited to JAMF, ESET Security, Code42 (Crashplan), Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, and Slack. Of note, all of this was done and implemented with only one IT staff member, responsible for all facets of the project as a whole.
